Have you upgraded your board firmware at all? Bluestacks flash player. I found another similar sounding problem on reddit and his solution was to upgrade to a later firmware version: https://www.reddit.com/r/CR10/comments/9ob15p/need_help_cr10_in_reboot_loop_when_usb_cable_is/ Forklift 3 3 8 exhaust pipe.

Note that he's talking about a CR-10, not E3, so if you mess with the firmware, make sure you get the right version for your board.

Pronterface was recommended on many, many posts so I installed in on my Win 10 laptop and it worked great for many prints and adjustments. Then it just started refusing to connect to my Ender 3. Tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled Pronterface. Tried many different USB cables including brand new out of package. Stopped firewall and all antivirus.

It sounds weird that the USB power lines could have an effect on the printer which has its own power supply, but I know for a fact that they are directly connected, since when I power off my Ender 3, the control panel LCD stays powered up if the printer is connected to USB (!), since the USB power lines seem to be directly connected to the control board power supply lines.

i HAVE BEEN RECENTLY BLESSED by the Fickle Finger of Fate and octopi for me is a sore subject. It is friendly to nothing I own or use. My PI Zero W sets in the 'This didn't work drawer along with Geeetech's 3D WiFi. I have pretty much given up on spending any more on wireless printing. I am trying to print straight from my computer from Simplify 3D. It works fine for about 3 minutes and then the ender freezes and the machine controller throws an error saying the printer is having an issue and it is trying to force the machine to accept code and move. It eventually shuts down the print cycle and begins cooldown. My virtual machine in the slicer stops as well in real time. I am kind of praying it is a video card issue and the 2 GB Radeon card I am about to install will solve the problem. If not I am still in limbo until I find out why this is happening. As for Octoprint/Octopi I never got my PI to Connect to my router. http://lpvgzc.xtgem.com/Blog/__xtblog_entry/19204432-contexts-3-2-0-fast-window-switcher-systems#xt_blog. After hours of trying and re-trying I finally managed to corrupt the MBR and Win7 would not load after reboot. That was 2 months ago it is still setting there. I am still depressed about it. Any way enough of my luck, if you hear of there being a glitch in the ender about printing from the slicer that is what I am trying to find out. Thank you for your help. Its fun, but its not all that easy.
