If you want to Organize fonts for Cricut Design Space, a Font Manager is exactly what you need. A Font Manager is free and easy to use.
I have a love/hate relationship with fonts. The right font can make any Cricut project professional looking. But finding the right font can take hours. Who has that time?
What is a Font Manager?
With a Font Manager app, your fonts will be organized and easily displayed for you to see. In the picture below, the top red arrow shows where you type in your text that you want to use on your Cricut project. This way you can see exactly what the text will look like on your project.
The second red arrow is showing the name of the font. These are fonts you already have downloaded on your computer, so don't worry about not having them. If you have them on your computer, you can use them in Cricut Design Space.
Why Do I Need a Font Manager?
If you can use the font in Cricut Design Space, why do you need a font manager? Good question.
If you are using Cricut Design Space and are browsing all the fonts, you really have no idea what YOUR text will look like according to their font example in the drop down.
You click on one that looks good and then look at your text. No, that's not what you want. High noon slot machine. You do the process over and over again….like a hundred times. Who has time for all that? Not me.
With a Font Manager App you type in the text in its text box and it shows you …. correctly….what your text will look like for your project.
No guessing, no repeating the process over and over again. You just scroll through all your already downloaded fonts from your PC.
What if you still can't find the right font?
Just because you have a Font Manager app that keeps your fonts perfectly organized doesn't mean you will find the perfect font for every project in your downloaded fonts. I still have to go to Dafont online and download new fonts for new projects. They are all free, so it's a no-brainer.
Where do you get a Font Manager?
There are several font managers online that will help you organize your fonts. I have two that I use, but I favor one over the other. I use NexusFont and High-Logic Main Type.
I can only find these on my computer and not my iPhone or tablet.
You can download them from several places on the internet, but here is a quick download link for both of them. Just click on the name of the font manager you want to try, or download both. NexusFont download link or High-Logic Main Type download link.
High-Logic does have a paid version and each time you open it, it will ask you if you want to use the free or paid version. I always use the free version.
What is the difference between these font managers?
Here are the two that I use. High-Logic Main Type and NexusFont.
As you can see, each font manager looks completely different. High-Logic font manager seems to be much more advanced and gives you a lot more information than the NexusFont font manager. But I don't really need advanced. I just need to organize fonts.
Do I Need Cricut Access
I find I use the NexusFont much more because of the simplicity. But you need to find out what your needs are and then choose one…or don't. Use them both. They are FREE!
How do you get the fonts in the font manager?

You don't! The font manager does all the work for you. Once you download the font manager of your choice, it will go to work in the background finding and filing all your fonts into its organizing machine. When it is done, just open it and you will see all your fonts.
Each time you download a new font, it will magically appear in your font manager as well.

So pull up the program you chose, type in your desired text in the text box and then scroll through the downloaded fonts to find the font you want to use.
